Christ Church Anglican Parish was established in 1909 in Edmonton, AB. Our current building was erected in 1920 and has housed a vibrant and growing community ever since.
In order for churches such as ours to continue to grow, we invite seekers to join us on a journey of faith. It is important to us how visitors and those within our community view our church, and creating a welcoming and friendly space for those who wish to join us is important to all of us at Christ Church. In order to ensure this spirit of invitation, we have created a Newcomers Committee. Our aim with this committee is to maintain spaces of welcome, track visitors, make connections for those who would like to become more involved in the parish, and train the wider parish in the ministry of welcome and hospitality.
We understand that in order for adult seekers to consider being a part of our parish there are certain touchstones that they need to experience including:
Authenticity in the church and its leadership Thoughtful follow-up A good theological ‘fit’ High quality of worship Programming that meets their needs The possibility of significant friendships Opportunity for a deeper spirituality
Here at Christ Church, the clergy, staff, and congregation all share a commitment to addressing these needs; ensuring that we are living fully connected with God and allowing new community members to worship alongside us in the spirit of humility and compassion.
We’d love for you join us this Sunday.
Mission & Vision
What We’re Called to Do
Our Mission: to encourage and support the faith journeys of all who share the word of God with us through praise, prayer, pastoral care, music, fellowship and outreach.
Who We’re Called to Be
Our Vision: to be a Christian faith community where everyone is welcome and nourished; a hub of activity and community engagement as we respond to God’s call.
Create a place for community, mentorship, learning, questioning and prayer for the youth and young adults at Christ Church. Ensure our young people have a place of welcome and conversation that they feel comfortable in.
“I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, to give you a future with hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
